My Favourite Wedding
Natalie Rodriguez owns and operates her
own studio uniQue photography in Sydney and travels Australia-wide
on a range of different assignments however, states that photographing
weddings somehow is always the most rewarding.
With years of experience in the photographic
industry, Natalie has been at the forefront of meeting clients
needs when it comes to their photographic requirements and
expectations, and is also a member of the Australian Institute
of professional photography.
Why was this wedding your favourite?
Marisol and Michael’s wedding was really special and
stood out to me because of its freshness and elegant simplicity.
At this intimate wedding you could really see and feel the
couples love and happiness reflected in their faces and in
the faces of their loved ones. The atmosphere was truly electric,
captivating, and therefore very contagious.
What were the elements that made
this wedding special?
What really made this wedding special to me is how much the
couple enjoyed the day, and didn’t let anything interrupt
their feeling of joyfulness and bliss. The couple are very
close to their families, leading to the bride wearing her
mothers wedding dress from over 30 years ago. The wedding
was set out in a very tranquil park in Balmain, Sydney where
the natural surroundings served as the perfect backdrop for
a very romantic and elegant ceremony.
Did the bridal couple specify how
they wanted the photos to look or give you free artistic rein?
The couple were very confident in letting me produce lasting
memories of their special day and did give me free artistic
rein. When they first came into see me at the studio they
were overwhelmed and loved everything they saw. They pointed
out images in the display albums that really made a lasting
impression on them and I knew they could already imagine themselves
in them. They really loved the very natural candid shots and
didn’t want anything that looked to rigid or posed.
So on the day, I aimed to capture all those precious moments
that would have otherwise gone unnoticed, and together we
produced an unforgettable and unique designer album.
What objective advice can you give
to brides and grooms about achieving stunning wedding photos?
The most important advice I can give to a bride and groom
is to try to be unaware of the camera and to really relax
and enjoy the day. This is the reason I am a strong believer
in the importance of a pre-wedding photographic session and
provide this extra service with my packages. It is surprising
how many people don’t feel confident in front of the
camera and it is even more amazing the change that takes place
in a person once they get to feel more and more comfortable
during the shoot. The shots that are achieved are spectacular
and very rewarding. The pre-wedding shoot is also a great
opportunity to bond with your photographer, and to enable
them to achieve the perfect angles .It also allows the client
to raise any concerns or fears they may have about being in
front of the camera.
Finding a photographer you can really
connect with and that understands what you ultimately want
to achieve (not just what they want) as well as the constant
stream of communication are very important factors in achieving
stunning wedding photography you will relive again and again.
